Using 'Real Tools"

Using “Real” tools to pull apart and put together an old VHS player.

Lesa has provided her children with the opportunity to be hands on with “real” tools and discover the wonders of the inner workings of a VHS player. (For those of you in the Y generation, this was a machine that played movie tapes before the disc/CD/Blue Ray player was invented ! )

The activity

has been available to the children to work on for a number of months, and despite the small pieces, with close supervision, even the youngest of children can actively be involved.

I particularly loved seeing the great concentration on their faces !

The children learnt all about WHS practices by wearing gloves when using the hand drill and the importance of securing the timber to the table.

Great experience Lesa and thank you for sharing.
